About Gil
After nearly 10 years of working in the Human Resources profession, I came to the conclusion it just wasn't as fun and exciting as when I first entered the field. In coming to this realization, I asked myself so what's next?
After a bit of soul searching and many moments of indecision, it finally dawned on me -- massage therapy was the answer! I discovered that working with my hands, being in the moment and doing one-on-one work is just personally more rewarding and satisfying than telling adults what they can / can't do and how to behave. Non verbal communication and positive touch can sometimes be more powerful than the mighty word.
The massage journey began in August 2010. In early 2011 I also transitioned from a full time job to a part time schedule to be able to practice and start building my clientele.
Massage school was an absolute blast and the people I was able to meet and network with were fantastic! The program was a year long program, approximately 720 hours and we learned Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial therapy (MFT), chair massage, hydrofriction / salt glow scrubs, shiatsu, point work and thai massage!
Our massage school graduation was September 10 and it was a great day! I am now a CMT, Certified Massage Therapist. Thank you for joining me in this journey and I hope I can share my passion with you soon.
Cheers, Gil
P.S. After just a couple days after massage school, I started a 6 month long esthetics program. It is a great learning adventure and I can't wait to start practicing facials and waxing!
